    Exclusive - Anita Raj to join Rajan Shahi’s Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai



     The long-running TV show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai is all set to take a time leap, and with that, the current cast will make way for new actors. Producer 

    Rajan Shahi is leaving no stone unturned to assemble an impressive cast to take the story ahead. The first actor to have been roped in to join the daily soap post the time leap is Bollywood actress Anita Raj.


    Producer Rajan Shahi confirms, “Yes, it is true that Anita Raj has been finalised. She will be playing a pivotal role in the new season of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai.”



    Anita, who forayed into television with Tumhari Pakhi (2014), the Anil Kapoor-starrer action thriller 24, and 


    Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani (2017), returned to the small screen two years later with 


    Choti Sarrdaarni. The family drama made her a household name as Kulwant Kaur Dhillon. She was later seen in 


    Saavi Ki Savaari. Anita will be seen as a strong character yet again in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai.



    In a previous chat, while talking about taking up television offers, Anita ahead of her entry in Saavi Ki Savaari, the veteran actress told us, “I enjoy doing strong roles and I am glad that TV is offering me interesting roles. In Choti Sarrdaarni, my role was negative and had many shades, but my role in Saavi Ki Savaari isn’t negative at all. I am open to anything interesting whether it is films, TV, or alternative platforms. I did a web show and would like to do films, but one has to land a good project. In the last few years, I was so busy with Choti Sarrdaarni that it didn’t let me consider any other offers.”


    The TV show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai has been entertaining the audience since January 2009 and has been through several time leaps resulting in changes in the cast, currently features 


    Pranali Rathod and Harshad Chopda as the lead couple. The impending time leap is expected to take place either in November-end or the beginning of December.
